TINA SCHILD

Tina Schild shares her story
The 43-year-old mom of 2 beautiful daughters, Emma & Hannah.  Been married for 17 years Mike.  I was born and raised in Newfoundland, moved to Ontario when I was 19.  I work as a clerk at an Elementary school and absolutely love my job working with children.

I RECENTLY BECAME A CERTIFIED KANGOO BOUNCE FITNESS INSTRUCTOR AND, IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF TEACHING A FEW NEW SONGS (CHOREOGRAPHED BY MYSELF) AT THE BABE CAVE.

What makes Becky so special as a trainer?
Becky is the most genuine, kind-hearted, caring, loving, and selfless person.  She is so unbelievably passionate about fitness and thrives deeply on helping others achieve their goals.  Whether it be fitness or nutritional advice, meal planning, progress tracking, or needing some encouragement and support, she has your back. Not only is she, in my opinion, the best trainer, she is also my amazing friend and I feel so privileged to have her in my life.

Fitness Goals:
I recently became a Certified Kangoo Bounce Fitness Instructor and, in a short period of time have had the privilege of teaching a few new songs (choreographed by myself) at The Babe Cave.  My goal is to one day teach classes at a fitness program in a school setting (High School/College) and hopefully inspire students and show them how important but also FUN fitness can be.   I also hope to receive my CanFit Instructors certification.

Training Plan:
I work out at least 3-4 times a week and train for 2-3 hours at a time…a combination of cardio and strength training.  My goal is to develop and maintain a daily routine of physical activity.

Nutritional & Supplements:
Magnum products have become my absolute favorite supplements….my daily intake consists of Magnums Primer Performance Packs, Mane Brain, Fixation, Opus, and Pre4 pre-workout.  I also love Magnums Acid, G-Spring, and E-Brake.

Do you have any special go-to recipes?
I am a salad JUNKIE and love any form of greens combined with my favorite proteins, chicken, and shrimp.

Special skills?
I am a Certified Kangoo Bounce Fitness Instructor and LOVE IT!!

What do your parents mean to you? What did they teach you?
My parents were never wealthy when I was growing up…dad was a fisherman and my mom stayed home to raise 5 children.  We never had expensive things but had everything we needed.  I appreciate everything my parents did for my siblings and me and I know they did the best with what they had.  They mean the absolute world to me.

IT IS UP TO US TO MAKE PHYSICAL FITNESS A PART OF OUR DAILY ACTIVITY.  LOOKING AFTER OUR BODIES IS IMPERATIVE.

What separates Status from other fitness magazines?
I’ve read through many fitness magazines and feel Status, through its transformations features, gives hope to people (average athletes/fitness guru’s) in helping them build confidence showing them that results are achievable and anything is possible if we just believe in ourselves and give it all our efforts.  It offers an inside look at Status’s personal trainers and their thoughts on the nutrition, supplement, and training process but more importantly, motivates upcoming athletes with inspirational quotes and advice.  I also feel Status Magazine has the most current nutrition and supplementation information available.

If you could ask Status Editor-In-Chief, Rodney Jang one question what would that be?
One question I would ask is “Where do you see the fitness industry going in the next 10 years?

What was it like working with Warren from Healthy Vision Photography?
Warren was absolutely amazing to work with.  He is so down-to-earth and easygoing, making me feel quite comfortable to pose in ANY form of attire I showed up in.  He gave great advice and knew exactly what poses to request in order to bring out the best physique in my shoot.  His knowledge of the fitness photography world is absolutely inspiring.  I thank him immensely for my amazing transformation shots.

Who inspires you?
BECKY OVERBECK…without her and her beautiful family, I would not be where or WHO I am today.  I have grown so much because of her and have found a new me….one I’m never giving upon.

Who do you wish to inspire?
I hope to inspire anybody who is feeling they are unable to become a healthier, stronger version of themselves.  To show them they are capable of doing anything if they just remember IT IS POSSIBLE!!!

Transformation Story:
For most of my life, I thought I knew what being fit and healthy was all about.  I was never overweight, keeping a pretty consistent weight on the scale even after two children, took part in sports, ran short distances, and tried various fitness programs. I struggled with arthritis in my knees and was advised by my physician to discontinue some of my activities.  I joined The Babe Cave (shortly after my arthritis diagnosis almost 6 years ago) and was immediately hooked. The classes were exactly what I needed.  Arthritis did not cause issues during or after my classes, in actual fact, the only time I ever felt pain was when I discontinued going for a longer period of time.  I continued on with Becky’s classes when in my mind, “I had the time to attend”.  And although I absolutely loved attending Becky’s classes,  I often used excuses such as “I’m too busy to go today”, “I worked late”, “I’m too tired”, “I have to cook dinner”, “my hamster died” (lol), etc.  BUT, let’s face it, we are all busy in our own way…LIVES ARE BUSY….raising children, working, keeping a home, cleaning, cooking meals, running our children to and from events, etc.
It wasn’t until recently, (6 months ago) I really stopped and took a long look at my life and where I wanted it to go. It is up to us to make physical fitness a part of our daily activity.  Looking after our bodies is imperative.  ‘You can’t run a car without fuel’!!  I LOVE EXERCISE AND FEELING STRONG.  I started to take my fitness program and health to a different level.  I attended more classes, lifted heavier, pushed a little harder, started taking specific Magnum Supplements, and watched my calorie intake.  YES there were times I wanted to quit, YES there were times my muscles hurt and there was a little voice in my head saying quit now, YES there were times I thought of grabbing a chocolate bar and eating the whole thing.  (Protein bars are an amazing alternative for that craving – I actually enjoy my protein bars instead of chocolate) BUT, I would not allow those little voices to get in the way of my goals…not this time.  I WOULD NOT QUIT!  I started to notice some big changes in my body – my physique, my energy level, my health, and even my ability to handle daily stresses with a clearer mindset.  I CAN NOT stress how much this has changed my life as a whole…Mentally, Physically, and Emotionally.
Not everybody in my life’s circle of friends and family may agree with my choices to become this happier, healthier version of me.  So many have said, “do you even eat”, “that can’t be healthy” or requesting I “eat a burger”, or even “you’re exercising too much”.  Every negative comment I hear, fuels my fire even more.  This is MY LIFE, and this is how I chose to live it.  HEALTHY, FIT, STRONG!

I have many aspirations and goals set out for myself in the following year.  I want to be stronger, leaner and my dream is to hopefully inspire others to become a better, healthier version of themselves.  If I can give a message to anybody it would be:  Commit to your goals.  Keep your mind strong.  Celebrate your progress.  Love yourself and NEVER give up.  And always surround yourself with positive energy; people who want to support you and help you achieve your goals.

I could not have done this without the love and support of some very special people in my life, Miss Becky Overbeck and her 2 beautiful families, The Overbeck Gang and The Babe Cavers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

How do you keep yourself motivated to stay on track when you start to slip?
Always remember what my goals are….I set goals for myself and I stick to them.  Accomplishing and achieving them just makes any progress that much more rewarding.
