Project Manager by Day,  Dog Trainer/Competitor by night.  I live a very active lifestyle with my family, friends, and dogs.  Outdoor adventures captivate me and I’m always chasing waterfalls.  I’ve never felt as healthy and whole as I do now.  I really feel my “cave” family has provided such an inspiration for well being for me.  My heart is honestly full!

What makes Becky so special as a trainer?
Becky’s positive spirit and energy are addictive to be around!  Every time I come into the room she welcomes you with her amazing smile.  No matter what kind of crappy day you may have had, her bubbly spirit will get you going.  She has encouraged me to believe in myself when all I wanted to do was toss the towel and call it a night! One of the best attributes of Becky and the Babe Cave is the lack of comparison.  Everyone has a story; everyone has goals, and everyone just builds each other up. The supportive atmosphere is truly special and for sure the main reason I continued to push myself.

ONE OF THE BEST ATTRIBUTES OF BECKY AND THE BABE CAVE IS THE LACK OF COMPARISON.  EVERYONE HAS A STORY; EVERYONE HAS GOALS, AND EVERYONE JUST BUILDS EACH OTHER UP.

Fitness Goals:

I plan to keep attentive to my well being and focus on building my personal strength.

Training Plan:
On a regular basis Kangoo Jump classes and Becky’s strength training.  I have a very busy life schedule and have incorporated home strength training as much as possible.

Nutritional & Supplements:
Magnum Heat on a regular basis Magnum Drip Dry just before the shoot.

Do you have any special go-to recipes?
YES go to the option of someone else making it LOL – I have a weakness in food prep and timeline………HOWEVER I am very good at preparing Egg muffins for my breakfast.  Since joining in the “cave” I’ve learned about making educated food choices to help with my goals – Blondie’s baking has taken the lead in the kitchen many times!

Special skills?
I’d have to say I’m creative in my teaching applications for my students within the Dog Agility Community.

I’M INSPIRED BY BECKY AND JAY WHO FOCUS ON THE HEALTH AND LIFE CHANGES OF SO MANY YET KEEP THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND IMMEDIATE FAMILY FIRST AND FOREMOST.

What do your parents mean to you? What did they teach you?
My parents mean the world to me – They are my constant support system and the reasons behind who I am today.  They’ve taught me that the hardest rewards are worth working for, there will be easy days followed by hard ones, and that relationships take work.  From the early hours of ice time to the early hours of continental travel, my parents have encouraged me towards all my hopes and dreams.

What separates Status from other fitness magazines?
I’m not diversified in Fitness magazines; however, I believe Status highlights the “fitness journey” of many and not just professional athletes.

If you could ask Status Editor-In-Chief, Rodney Jang one question what would that be?
How has fitness impacted your life?

What was it like working with Warren from Healthy Vision Photography?
Working with Warren was great – I’ve been involved in many photo shoots but my dogs were the ones in the photos, not me!  I was super nervous and out of my element – Warren’s coaching was appreciated his calm demeanor was perfect

Things people would not know about you:
This is a tough one – I live two very separate lives LOL My “Babe Cave” family would not know
• I traveled to Slovenia to get a puppy
• My van is for the dogs not kids
• I’ve judged International Level Dog Agility in Finland and an upcoming assignment in Germany
• I’m a 6 time Canadian World Dog Agility Team Competitor within 3 different organizations
• Figure skating was my YOUTH, I was the first person from the area to earn Gold Medal status in Free Skate, Dance, and Figures.  I judged and taught figure skating for years

Who inspires you?
I’m blessed to have so many inspirational people around me. Certainly, my parents have been instrumental in my life!
My hardworking Grandparents
My Skating Coach
My students
I’m inspired by those who are medically affected with the disease yet rise above their diagnosis and live every day to the fullest.
I’m inspired by Becky and Jay who focus on the health and life change of so many yet keep their relationship and immediate family first and foremost.
I’m inspired by those who aim to make a positive difference within the local /social community.
I’m inspired by those who keep pushing their personal challenges to pursue their own happiness.

Who do you wish to inspire?
I hope to inspire those with self-doubt.

THE FIRST CLASS HAD ME GASPING FOR AIR WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF THE FIRST SONG.  I WAS SO EMBARRASSED TO HANG OUT AT THE BACK AND I QUICKLY REALIZED THAT THE WORKOUT I HAD ARRIVED AT WAS ONE OF CATCHING MY OWN BREATH!

Why did you start your transformation and what keeps you going?
I woke up one day and was sick of being tired!  I had zero motivation outside of my busy calendar and life was oh but a routine.
My local hairdresser had found her passion and a total life change with Becky and these boots!  -I loved hearing her stories but just never made the effort or time to invest in this me –  I had seen Kangoo on youtube and thought it’d be fun to do. I found out that the “Babe Cave” was nearby and I found a pair of boots for sale within my area.  I bought the boots called a friend and enrolled in classes the next day.
I thought I was in decent shape I just wanted to “dance”.  The first class had me gasping for air within 30 seconds of the first song.  I was so embarrassed to hang out at the back and I quickly realized that the workout I had arrived at was one of catching my own breath!  I was shocked and embarrassed at how out of shape I was!
The encouraging environment of the “babe cave” family helped me finish the first class and I honestly don’t know why I kept going back LOL – The sweat, the aches, the pain was enough to drive anyone away, but I honestly never felt better.  I’d say within a week I had increased energy and was so energized to learn the steps and just enjoy ME time.  Within the first 2 months, I lost 11 lbs. My body had started to physically change, and I got rid of so much negative energy.  For the first time in years, I felt so accomplished and I had done nothing but EVERYTHING all at once.  I didn’t realize how much of a slump I was getting into.  I didn’t realize that eating clean would change my energy the way it has.  I honestly didn’t know what I didn’t know!
The positive energy and the influence of real success stories are why I keep going back.  When you see people working out class after class literally sweating their stress away……..it’s enlightening! Partaking in real conversations of LIFE and life changes with new friends is rewarding.  Dedicating time to ME has been instrumental in my personal growth of wellbeing.  With a busy day job and a demanding hobby, I was just going in circles and operating with fast-food chains.  Since acknowledging that 24 hours can be utilized in so many more ways than I was doing, I have a newfound level of energy for so many positives in my life. I’ve learned that being “present” is more than a gift you can ever purchase for anyone.

How do you keep yourself motivated to stay on track when you start to slip?
I really don’t like the feeling of being tired – this is motivation to keep me going.
I have had to empty my closet 3 times and purchase a new wardrobe – feeling good in outfits has never felt better.

Life goals:
To remain balanced with healthy amounts of stress and surround me with like-minded people.  I will inevitably grow old, but I don’t want to be old.  I want to enjoy what I can when I can with people who embrace my existence.

Lessons you have learned:
Your parents know best! Trust your gut. You can never be happy with someone unless you are happy with yourself. Surround yourself with likeminded people who support you through challenges and praise you through growth
If you love someone  – tell them. Stay close to family.

Advice you can give to people who want to start training?
What are you waiting for?  Scheduling YOU time is the best thing you can do for yourself.  So many bodyweight exercises can be done at home, you don’t need to go to the gym.
