Kim Adams Shares His Transformation Success Story

My name is Kimberly Adams (Beaton) and I am 40 years old.  I was born at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, Ontario.  I was born premature weighing just over 2 pounds, so I spent quite some time in hospital after that.  I was such a fighter and that is why I am able to tell my story today.  I grew up in Tottenham Ontario then headed north to Barrie in my teenage years.  After High school, I started to work at Mcdonald’s and that is where I spent the next 18 years.  I worked my way up in the company worked in many different restaurants and met such amazing people.  I got married in September of 2005 to my amazing Husband Mike.  Soon after I wed my Father fell sick and passed away that December, my life changed that day forever.  In 2006 we had a beautiful baby girl, she brought such joy and hope that life will get better.  After a long 6.5 years we had a bouncing baby boy, our family was complete.  After 2013 I left my career to stay home with my children, so fortunate to have been able to do that.  In September 2017 *****************
Growing up I spent my time enjoying life, playing sports, and spending time with my Friends & Family.   (There wasn’t much else to do growing up in a small town)  I was born premature and weighed 2 pounds, the Dr.’s were positive I would have had health issues in the future.  Well, I fought every day and showed them what “Strong” was!  Nothing would slow me down, I gave everything 100%.  After graduating High school I started to work at a local McDonald’s restaurant and ended up spending the following 18 years with the Company.  In 2003 I met my Husband Mike, he is exactly what I needed at that time in my life.  We got married in 2005, it was the most magical day of my life.  Only a couple of months after we were married my Dad got sick and passed away shortly thereafter.  My life was turned upside down and changed forever.  I was then later diagnosed with Arthritis in all my joints, badly affecting my hands, knees, and feet. In 2006 we welcomed our Daughter McKayla, I never thought I could love someone as much as I love her.  She is my sidekick when it comes to shopping, baking and she is my workout partner.  In 2013 we welcomed our son Hudson, my love grew even more than I knew I was capable of.  I left my career to stay home and raise my children as they grow up way too fast and life was flying by so quickly.  In 2013 I joined a local gym I attended classes, signed up for running groups, dragon boat races, you name it I tried it.  I was in desperate need of changing how I felt inside about the way I looked on the outside.  I trained day in and day out and wasn’t seeing the results I was expecting.  We moved our Family to Alliston in 2017 and I joined a local fitness facility.  I couldn’t believe the change happening after belonging to the Babe Cave for such a short period of time.  I trained daily, followed a meal plan and my fitness goals were being crushed daily!  The results I was seeing were amazing.  The Babe Cave is filled with such an amazing group of women (and men) that support each other to keep going and to never give up.  I have met such amazing friends, that I consider as important as family.  In 2018 I completed my very first ever Photoshoot with Warren and it was mind-blowing!  Who knows that he could make it easy as I was beyond my comfort level.  I was so happy with the outcome of my Photoshoot and wouldn’t have changed anything.   Looking at my pictures I realized I felt as good as I looked, Strong, confident and happy.  I have continued to attend the Babe Cave and continue my fitness journey. I kept up with my fitness routines and then was part of the Photoshoot again this year.  I was much more relaxed this time around and was able to enjoy every minute without any insecurities.  I still train daily at the gym and if not there I bring the gym home as I started back to work this year and having 2 kids in Rep sports, a husband that I work opposite shift work form sometimes makes it difficult.  Overcoming my daily struggles with Arthritis my goal moving forward is to continue to Run Races, complete fun Obstacle races and continue my fitness journey, Bounce like no one is watching, and work harder every day.

I COULDN’T BELIEVE THE CHANGE HAPPENING AFTER BELONGING TO THE BABE CAVE FOR SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.  I TRAINED DAILY, FOLLOWED A MEAL PLAN AND MY FITNESS GOALS WERE BEING CRUSHED DAILY!  THE RESULTS I WAS SEEING WERE AMAZING

Transformation story:
I started my fitness journey just after my son was born in 2013. I wasn’t happy with the way I felt and was very conscious about the way I looked, I used clothing to hide my body. I joined a gym when my son was 6 months old, I attended strength classes, did workouts with friends, and joined a running group. I worked out daily and my changes were minimal, I wasn’t seeing the progress I was hoping for. And having arthritis in most of my joints and knees was making it hard to have any motivation. The first day of school on September 5th, 2017 I took my kids to school, then a friend and I headed to the Babe Cave. I was so scared as I didn’t know what to expect, I thought “was I going to be able to keep up?”, “I don’t know what I’m doing!” After walking down the stairs into the Babe Cave I instantly felt welcomed and at ease. I did my first Kangoo workout and was hooked! No pain! No gain! Becky took the time after class to explain the Workouts and schedule, she also introduced me to her meal plan, there was turning back now! From this day forward I have changed my eating habits, my fitness routines, it has made me a better person mentally, physically, and emotionally. Being an active mom/wife to 2 kids aged 6 and 12 who are actively involved in Rep sports, working a full-time job of opposite shift work to my husband, I always make time for a workout daily! I have met so many amazing people and beyond that have made some really amazing friends

Why did you start your transformation and what keeps you going?
I started my journey because I wasn’t happy with my body image and being unhealthy was bringing out the worst in me.  I wasn’t happy.

How do you keep yourself motivated to stay on track when you start to slip?
I always reflect back on how I felt and looked before my Journey started, then I think of all the support I have from my Babe Cave family, and I realize I can’t stop now!
