I will be competing in the Knight of Champions. The day of September 5th, 2015 is a special day for me, not only because it is my birthday, but also because it marks 6 years of when I first started my fitness/bodybuilding journey. When I first started working out, I had little idea of what I was doing. As you can see in the attachments (pic 1 and pic 2), I was extremely skinny, underweight, and I just wanted to “get big”.
“I almost didn’t recognize James when he stepped on stage at the Knight of Champions in Surrey, BC. What a transformation. All the hard work was evident as he confidently took center stage. I truly appreciate the journey of having gone through something similar years ago. James, keep working hard. You will do well at BC Provincials.”
THE DAY OF SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2015 IS A SPECIAL DAY FOR ME, NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT IS MY BIRTHDAY, BUT ALSO BECAUSE IT MARKS 6 YEARS OF WHEN I FIRST STARTED MY FITNESS/BODYBUILDING JOURNEY.
I did a lot of research on working out, how to gain muscle, what foods to eat, and what supplements to take. I did eventually gain quite a bit of muscle, but unfortunately, because my diet was not on point, I gained quite a bit of fat. In pic 3 (below), you can see me about 3 years into my bodybuilding journey. I had muscle, but also a lot of fat.
At this time, I was unsure of what I wanted to do. I was a little bit unmotivated because I thought all of my hard work gaining muscle was going to waste. I wanted to gain more muscle, lose more fat, and achieve the “fitness model look”.
1.5 years later, I decided I wanted to prove to myself that this was the lifestyle for me. I promised myself I would improve my diet; train harder in the gym and do a physique show. I continued to do more research on proper eating and how to lift weights effectively. I worked my butt off in the gym and I noticed clear improvements in my physique. You can see my body changing in pic 4.
I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULD IMPROVE MY DIET; TRAIN HARDER IN THE GYM AND DO A PHYSIQUE SHOW.
Fast forward to today. I found myself a contest prep coach. I completely changed the way I work out (high volume, high intensity), I am now 100% on point with my diet. I stayed consistent with my plan and I am more motivated than ever. I am now a little less than 5 weeks out of my first show and I am extremely excited. See pic 5 and pic 6 of where I am now.
HIS WILL BE A MILESTONE DAY AND A VERY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ME! I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING EVERYONE ON SEPT. 5TH, 2015!
I am super excited to see what changes my body will make in the next few weeks. This will be a milestone day and a very memorable experience for me!
Thank you for reading my story. I hope you will find this story somewhat motivational. I am extremely excited about this show, and I look forward to meeting everyone on Sept. 5th, 2015!
