Transformations

I am 25 years old. To date, I have lost 85lbs and fully transformed myself physically and mentally. I began to take control of my life in 2013 and have never looked back. I am now a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and I have a specialization in Sports Performance Enhancement.

In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, trail running, weight lifting, spending time with my family and friends. My main goal in my journey is to share my story and in doing so I hope to inspire someone to begin theirs. I am continuing my journey and chasing my goal to reach WBFF Pro Status.

I BEGAN TO TAKE CONTROL OF MY LIFE IN 2013 AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Transformation Story
All my life I was overweight, constantly using food as a way to cope with life’s ups and downs. Food was there for celebrations, times of grief, and everything in between. I had this mindset that I was overweight and would always be overweight. By the time I hit high school I had truly given up on myself and was simply going through the motions. But it wasn’t until college that I lost all control. Pairing my emotional eating habits with a college student’s drinking diet was a recipe for disaster.  The summer after my freshman year I found myself at 245lbs and about 30% body fat. In addition to my poor habits, I had been dealing with a family issue since the age of 11 and food was my way to cope with things. I would look in the mirror and not know who that person was looking back at me. I would walk around with a fake smile on and a feeling of invisibility. I was constantly on a “yo-yo” diet, losing weight and then gaining it right back.

PAIRING MY EMOTIONAL EATING HABITS WITH A COLLEGE STUDENT DRINKING DIET WAS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER.

The change came in January of 2013. I was unemployed and disgusted with myself. I was unmotivated and doing nothing to pursue my dreams.  This was my turning point. It was time to change. I made a promise to myself that I would accomplish this goal and not give up. It just all clicked that New Year’s Eve. That year I made sure to stop looking in the past and start moving forward. I wrote my dreams down on paper which turned them into goals; goals I would accomplish.

I am now 25 years old living in Connecticut and an active fitness competitor. I competed in an INBF show in 2014, placing 4th in the junior division. I again stepped on stage in 2015 at the WBFF Fitness Atlantic where I was recognized as one of the top transformations and placed 8th in the male fitness model category.

Leading up to my most recent show, the 2016 Fitness Atlantic, I began working with Micah Lacerte and HitchFit. I finally believed in myself and it showed on stage. I took 5th in Male Muscle Model and Top 10 in Male Fitness Model. I have lost 85lbs to date and 24% body fat.  I have big goals set for the end of this 2016 year so stay tuned as I will be stepping on stage again!

Training Plan
My training consists of a split style of training. I focus on 1 to 2 body parts per training session. I keep my body guessing by changing my workouts, which include: High Interval Training, High Reps/Volume Training, and Low Rep, Heavyweight training.

Supplement Plan
My daily supplements include Kaged Muscle Pre-Kaged, In-Kaged, Re-Kaged, Glutamine, BCAAs, Citrulline, Creatine, and Clean Burn. In addition, in my off-season, I have been taking Magnum Thrust and E-Brake.

Nutrition Plan
My nutrition consists of wholesome, nutrient-dense meals. I make sure to get in 5-6 meals throughout the day.  I follow a high protein diet. My carbs and fats vary from day to day as I carb cycle.

My Inspiration
My inspiration comes from my mother. Even during tough times, she raised me and my 4 older sisters. You would never have guessed our family was going through any issues because of how hard she worked to give us extraordinary lives. She taught me at a young age to work hard and pursue all of my dreams and never hold back. During the time when I started wanting to compete this was all new to her and although she worried as most mothers do, she was behind me 100%. Although when on stage I can barely see into the crowd, all I need to do is listen and I can hear her screaming my name and cheering me on.

Inspirational Message
The message I would like to provide to those reading can be summed up in my favorite quote:

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change, there is power.” -Alan Cohen

To take yourself out of that comfort level is very challenging and can be terrifying, however, getting out of your comfort zone and creating change is when you will truly see what you are made of. You will see how far you can grow and accomplish things you only dreamed of!

My Future Fitness Goals
My future goal is to compete in the WBFF NYC or Rhode Island and to win my WBFF Pro Card. I made a promise to myself at the start of 2016 that by the end of this year I would accomplish this goal. I have my focus set and nothing will get in my way.

Once my Pro Card is obtained I will be gracing the Worlds stage to compete with the best of the best, with the hopes of attending the 2017 Worlds.

MY FUTURE GOAL IS TO COMPETE IN THE WBFF NYC OR RHODE ISLAND AND TO WIN MY WBFF PRO CARD. I MADE A PROMISE TO MYSELF AT THE START OF 2016 THAT BY THE END OF THIS YEAR I WOULD ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL.

Working with David Ford
My first photoshoot was the one I did with David and it was nothing short of amazing. David helped me get comfortable in front of the camera and his creativity really made this photoshoot amazing. Not to mention after getting the pictures, the photos for themselves, because they were absolutely phenomenal!

Working with Rodney Jang
Since I sat in the competitor meeting for the Fitness Atlantic back in 2015 and heard Rodney speak to all of us the night before the show, I told myself that for 2016 I want to be able to work with Rodney and Status Fitness. Working with Rodney this year, I could see the passion he has for what he does. He helped me with laying out all the clothes I brought to the photoshoot and piecing together the clothes that would make a great shot. Working with someone so passionate about this business and who expressed a real interest in my fitness journey made the experience something I will never forget. It was honestly one of my dreams come true.
