In September of 2018, my good friend Sarah suggested I come and try bouncing. Sure! why not? she seemed to be having fun, so I agreed to give it a try. It was FUN, I returned again and again. I wasn’t very coordinated in the beginning and it was a struggle for me to get through the class.  In October I made the commitment to join the Babe Cave. I talked to Becky about setting goals, we talked about my current diet and what I was eating. I listened to her advice on how to make positive changes to reach those goals. I learned to make better choices in the foods I was eating, count calories and follow Blondies Baking for meal ideas.
My first goal was simply to lose 40 lbs. I started with Kangoo classes then added strength training classes. I have lost 48 lbs and 49” in 8 months.  I feel fantastic, I have more energy and am stronger than I have ever been. I am 56 years old, a mother to 4, grandmother to 2 and I never thought this was something I could ever do, but here I am exceeding my goals. It has been an incredible journey; I have not only been exposed to the most powerful and positive environment, but now feel part of this.I look forward to getting to classes and ensure that I make time. My next goal is to continue my fitness journey getting stronger and more fit.
I am grateful to be a part of such a strong supportive group of people, who consistently energize and provide encouragement on and off the gym floor.

What makes Becky so special as a trainer?
She truly cares. What you see is what you get with Becky. I have never worked with another trainer, so have nothing to compare her to, however, the support, encouragement, being available any time, and she responds. She has a way of making everyone feel special. She truly wants everyone to succeed meet your goals and will support and provide you with whatever information you need to meet those goals.  All that energy we parents always talk about being able to bottle from our kids……..Becky has it LOL. Her energy is infectious and when you are ready to give up because you are exhausted, somehow her energy radiates and before you know it; you DID IT!! She continually radiates positivity and has built this into her Babe Cave environment.

I have trained dogs to do a variety of behaviors

What do your parents mean to you? What did they teach you?
Tough question, I was close to my mom who passed when I was young, she meant everything to me. She was not able to be a part of so many things in my life I wish she could have been.

What separates Status from other fitness magazines?
Another tough question, honestly I am not versed on fitness magazines, only Status Fitness since the opportunity to be part of it. I like the idea that it embraces all fitness levels.

If you could ask Status Editor-In-Chief, Rodney Jang one question what would that be?
What does fitness mean to you?

What was it like working with Warren from Healthy Vision Photography?
Warren has an easy going personality and was easy to work with, he was interested in who we were.

BECKY HELPED ME SET REACHABLE GOALS GAVE ME SUGGESTIONS ON FOOD CHOICES AND CALORIE COUNTING, I DID IT, I MET EACH ONE AND HAVE NOW REACHED AND EXCEEDED MY GOAL WEIGHT. IN A SIZE 4 FROM A 16.

Things people would not know about you:
– I have 4 kids, not 2
– I was very active with my dogs on various levels and put agility, obedience, and conformation titles on them.  They have also been in movies and commercials.
– I have been told I have a tough exterior, however, I am truly an emotional marshmallow on the inside.

Who inspires you?
People who are strong and those who don’t let obstacles get in their way of reaching their goals. People who are honest, genuine , truthful, and are happy for others’ successes and are willing to offer help, suggestions and encouragement to help them reach those goals.

Who do you wish to inspire?
Anyone I can, those who have seen what I have accomplished, are happy for me and want to do the same.

Transformation story:
Weight has always been a struggle for me. It became a huge struggle when I quit smoking and I gained 50lbs.  I didn’t realize how big I was until I saw a picture of me and was not happy with how I looked.  I successfully lost that 50lbs and in time gained 40 of those back. 8 months ago my friend suggested I go to The Babe Cave and bounce.  Sure! I said why not.  I was totally lost on the spring boots, but it was fun.  I kept coming back and enjoyed being there. Right away Becky made me feel that I belonged and welcome. I was not very good at it and I still have a lot to learn, but I am now able to sustain the bounce and strength classes. Becky helped me set reachable goals gave me suggestions on food choices and calorie counting, I did it, I met each one and have now reached and exceeded my goal weight. In a size 4 from a 16.

Why did you start your transformation and what keeps you going?
Not being happy with how I looked. What keeps me going is that I have worked very hard to get here and will keep going to classes for the fun it is, the positive environment and my desire to maintain what I have worked so hard for.

How do you keep yourself motivated to stay on track when you start to slip?
My friends and family’s support and encouragement, and my desire to stay in all the size 4 clothes I have bought!

Life goals:
Stay healthy and happy, avoid negativity and stressors, look more positivity at the world and situations, take time to stop and appreciate life and the world of beauty that surrounds us.  Stopping and taking in a beautiful sunrise or a rainbow, things that I would typically make a mental note of and then hurry off the beat the clock somewhere.

Lessons you have learned:
Stay true to yourself, surround yourself with those who have the same passions and desires that you do.  Love your family and don’t take them for granted.  Look for the positive in everything, don’t focus on the negative.
